Description

It is a group of two or more computers that can talk to each other. From a single computer sharing basic peripherals to huge data centres all over the world, to even the Internet itself, the scale can be very big or very small. Computer networks are used for a lot of different things, some of which are:

  • This means that people can use shared storage devices to share things like hardware and data.
  • A bus, star, and ring are some of the most common topologies.
  • The protocol is a set of rules and signals that all the computers on the network use to communicate with each other.

Conducting transactions and communications among businesses, government agencies and individuals. Networks can be private, such as within a company, and others that might be open to public access.

Network security starts with authentication, commonly with a username and a password. Since this requires just one detail authenticating the user name—i.e., the password—this is sometimes termed one-factor authentication.
