Description

Update for KineFX Houdini 18.5:

**** Vol. 02 ****

This release has more than 4 hours of new footage that shows how KineFX, the new way to rig in Houdini, works.

Using the new KineFX tools, we will build 2 fully playable rigs: a tentacle and a zombie, demonstrating the new processes as we go.

We start with nothing and end up with fully rigged, skinned, and animated assets with user interfaces that are easy for animators to use.

Beginner animators or anyone who wants to use their rigging skills from another 3D program and take advantage of Houdini’s huge power in game development projects should take this course.

**** Vol. 1 ****

Learn how to use Houdini to rig a zombie figure for animation.

The principles of the job of the technical animator, or rigger, are covered in this course. Node by node, we’ll build an animation rig that can be used in the Unity Game Engine. In the process, we’ll go through the core ideas of rigging in Houdini and build a variety of reusable rigging tools using Python and Houdini Digital Assets.

After finishing, you’ll have a zombie asset that is ready for animation. For Houdini Indie users, we’ll also look at exporting the finished rig into Unity for testing.

We start with nothing and don’t skip a single step until we have a fully rigged, skinned, and animated asset with a flexible user interface.

Beginner animators or anyone who wants to use their rigging skills from another 3D program and take advantage of Houdini’s huge power in game development projects should take this course.

Who this course is for:
